The game retains the beautiful mosaic tile-laying aspect from the original "Azul," but introduces new mechanics related to chocolate-making.

Here's an overview of how the game works:

  1. Game Setup: The game includes a central game board, individual player boards, and a supply of chocolate tiles. Players set up their player boards and take a starting selection of chocolate tiles based on the board they've chosen.

  2. Tile Selection and Placement: Similar to the original "Azul," players take turns selecting groups of chocolate tiles from the central supply. They must then place these tiles onto their player boards, attempting to create patterns that will score them points.

  3. Chocolate Factory and Box: The innovation in "Azul: Master Chocolatier" is the "Chocolate Factory" section of the player board. Here, players can place tiles to create different types of chocolates. These chocolates can then be placed in their "Chocolate Box" section, earning them points.

  4. Pattern Building: Players continue to choose and place tiles, aiming to complete patterns and create chocolates. Completing specific patterns on the Chocolate Factory section and filling boxes with chocolates both yield points.
